May 12, 2012 When I download my pictures to my computer from my Nikon Coolpix S630, it always downloads ALL the pics instead of just the new pictures I just took. How do I download only the new pics? There is a prompt that says, download new pics only? And I do that, but it still downloads all 600 pics I have saved on the camera.

How to transfer photos from my Coolpix camer to this desk top computer - 1
Added (1). Mac g5 installation disk download. can you answer my question?
Which Coolpix camera? Which computer? Usually by using a USB cable connecting the camera to the computer or by using a card reader connected to the computer (take the memory card out of the camera, put it in the card reader, locate the images and copy them to the computer).

Do what most of us have been doing for nearly two decades.
Remove the memory card from the camera and use the card reader on your computer
You can then copy all the image files to a new file folder named for the subject/location and date so you any find those images months or years later

Take out the camera's memory card and insert it to a USB card reader. Connect the card reader to the computer's USB slot and use Windows/File Explorer/Manager or (Mac) Finder to do the copying so that you can be sure the pictures don't get modified during the copy process. Format the card after copying in preparation for the next shoot. This is the only method of doing so as recommended by both Photography and Computer experts.

Take the card out.

Once the transfer is complete, put the card back into the camera and use the camera's format function to clear out the file system on the card. This will ensure that it's ready to be used again and will lower the odds of the card getting corrupt.

You do it by reading the instructions that came with the camera. If you do not have the instructions, they are easy to download for free from the Nikon website. Encyclopedia of hell free download. We can't link you directly to them because you did not bother to state the exact camera model you have. There have been MANY 'Coolpix' cameras through the years.
As the others have said, using a CARD READER is the best way to do it. Your computer likely already has an SD card reader built into it.

How To Download Nikon Coolpix To Computer
Download Photos To Mac From Coolpix Memory Card
First try reapplying the Mac OS X 10.4.11 Combo Update (PPC) or the Mac OS X 10.4.11 Combo Update (Intel), whichever is appropriate. Follow that by a repair of disk permissions and another reboot.
TIP:For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.
